How To Order Embroidery Workwear For Your Business
If you've been thinking about getting branded workwear for your team but aren't sure where to start, you're not alone. It's one of the most common questions we get at Plus2Print in Downpatrick. The good news is the process is much simpler than most people think.
Here's a step by step guide to ordering embroidery workwear for your business.
Step 1 — Decide What Garments You Need
The first decision is what type of clothing you want embroidered. The most popular choices for local businesses across Northern Ireland are:
Polo shirts are the most versatile workwear option. Smart enough for customer facing roles, comfortable enough for physical work. Available in dozens of colours and sizes from 2XS to 5XL.
Fleece jackets are ideal for outdoor workers, tradespeople, and anyone working in colder environments. Full zip and quarter zip options available.
Softshell jackets and bodywarmers are windproof and water resistant, perfect for construction, landscaping, and outdoor industries.
Hoodies and sweatshirts are popular with sports clubs, gyms, and casual workwear. Great value and very comfortable.
Caps and beanies are a cost effective way to get your brand seen. Popular with sports teams, outdoor workers, and promotional giveaways.
Not sure what's right for your business? Just message us and we'll help you choose the right garment for your needs and budget.
Step 2 — Sort Your Logo
Before we can embroider anything we need your logo in a suitable format. Ideally this should be an AI or EPS vector file for best quality, a high resolution PNG at minimum 300dpi with a transparent background, or a PDF if it's vector based.
Don't have your logo in the right format? Don't worry. Plus2Print offer logo design and digitising services. We can work with what you have and get it ready for embroidery.
Step 3 — Logo Digitising
This is the step most people don't know about. Before your logo can be embroidered it needs to be converted into a special stitch file called a DST file. This process is called digitising.
At Plus2Print we handle all the digitising in house. On selected bundle orders we include logo digitising for free so there's no hidden extra charge to worry about.
Once your logo is digitised it's saved on file for all future orders, so reordering is even quicker next time.
Step 4 — Choose Your Colours and Sizes
Once you've chosen your garment and sorted your logo, you'll need to decide on garment colour, thread colour and sizes needed for each team member. Most garments come in a wide range of colours to match your brand and your logo will be stitched in thread that matches your brand colours as closely as possible.
Step 5 — Approve Your Proof
Before we put needle to fabric we'll send you a digital proof showing exactly how your embroidered logo will look on the chosen garment. This gives you the chance to check colours, sizing, and positioning before we start.
We won't begin embroidering until you're completely happy with the proof.
Step 6 — Production and Delivery
Once you've approved the proof we get straight to work. Most embroidery workwear orders at Plus2Print are turned around 7 working days depending on quantity.
You can either collect from our shop at 22 Irish Street, Downpatrick for free, or have it delivered across Northern Ireland and the UK.
